The Dermapen treatment has many advantages for medical professionals and their patients.
Dermapen treatment is done using an automated micro-needling pen and delivers an unparalleled healing response via micro-injuries into the skin. These micro-injuries to the skin encourage and harness the power of the body’s natural innate ability to repair the skin. The Dermapen before and after pictures are typical of a series of sessions where patients experienced 4 to 6 sessions over the space of three to six months. Each Dermapen treatment is performed four to five weeks apart per practitioner recommendation. Dermapen micro needling pen offers a solution for all skin types.
Primarily, the Dermapen treatment is offered to patients to reduce:
Wrinkles and fine lines
Stretch marks
Acne Scars
Enlarged pores
Scars from surgery
Skin sags
Hair loss
Burn Scars
Pigmentation marks from sun damage or acne
Improve skin tone
Stimulate the production of collagen and elastin
Want to have plumper skin
What can I except during a typical Dermapen procedure?
All topical face products, including make-up and lotions, are removed from the face. Our medical therapist applies numbing cream to the treatment area and waits 60 minutes for the cream to take effect or we will ask you to do it at home before the procedure.
A pre and post-op photo will be taken with each treatment.
Once the skin is numbed, the affected area is treated with the Dermapen.
The procedure can take from 20 minutes to an hour.
Is the Dermapen treatment painful?
Yes, to prevent you feeling any pain, we apply numbing cream to the treatment area before starting treatment.
How often do I need a Dermapen treatment for optimal results?
We recommend that patients have a Dermapen treatment once every 4-6 weeks until the required result has been achieved. The reason for the lengthy gap between treatments is that fact that is takes 4-6 weeks for the new, natural collagen to form. Patients have reported seeing signs of improvement anywhere between 2 weeks to 8 months after the procedure. Certain scars have been known to take even longer. The results are entirely dependent on skin type and the severity of skin damage.
Are there any side effects?
Post treatment, skin can temporally feel dry, red and/or swell. These side effects last a few hours to a few days. Dermapen treatments are known to make the skin very photosensitive and we recommend that patients stay out of the sun for several weeks while their skin is recovering.
